An efficient and reliable tool to help librarians build and manage an electronic library, meeting their goals and requirements: that is what best describes the OCLC PICA Central Library System CBS. That it performs so well, is due to our developing CBS in close consultation and co-operation with libraries. The system is completely Unicode compliant and, as well as offering you the infrastructure for the creation and management of union catalogues, the Central Library System provides the tools for operating a regional Interlibrary Loan system.
Increasing number of users
This system is currently operational in Germany, the Netherlands, France and Australia. Cooperatives (national, regional or subject-related such as medical libraries) of all types of libraries can use CBS.
