Introduction

OCLC PICA’s Local Library System (LBS) is a fully integrated system, consisting of weboriented modules, such as an Online Public Access catalogue, a training module, a module for Acquisitions and Serials Management and a module for Circulation Control. The Local Library System also provides facilities for local cataloguing, user and systems management and user statistics.

The LBS System links to national or regional cataloguing and ILL systems that are then integrated into your local system. As all the modules of the Local Library System are fully integrated, all bibliographic information is available in all modules in real time. LBS therefore offers you the benefits of participating in a nationwide (or regional) cataloguing or ILL system, through your local system which is structured to your own wishes and requirements.
