Increasingly, alongside formal information systems, support is also required for collaboration, communication and question answering. Such systems allow tacit knowledge to be incorporated into information systems. Our Virtual Reference service is an example of a collaborative system that is used to augment explicit knowledge services that are built on formal collections.
