Government Services

As a government agency, the State Library of Ohio provides a number of services to state government, Ohio libraries, and Ohio residents. Providing services to specific populations is something all government agencies do. Unfortunately, these services are not always widely known. In an effort to promote the wonderful tools and benefits these agencies provide, this issue is dedicated to the theme of Government Services.

Our articles this month focus on a wide variety of government services: digital archiving, energy conservation, training, workplace safety, and services to inmates.

State Librarian’s Report

Government information runs the gamut from "How to renew your driver's license online" to the latest EPA report. In between there is a wealth of information just waiting to be harvested.

The State Library of Ohio is a full Federal depository – in fact is the only such in the state of Ohio. Many of the publications from the Federal government are now available online which means that our customers, no matter where they are, can access them through the Internet. In today's culture this is very important as we have moved into the mindset of "I see, I want, I get NOW."
