Watch this list
If you've looked at a WorldCat list in the last couple days, you've seen a new button: Watch This List or the Watch Selected button shown below:
Or if you've visited your profile since Sunday, you've seen, well...you've seen a lot of changes, including a section for the lists you're watching.
What does it mean to watch a list? You get a shortcut to the list from your profile! The list owner gets a warm feeling knowing that you've enjoyed their list enough to link your profile to it. And everyone else gets to know who all likes a list and most likely what library items they like.
Yet another way to connect to people who love their libraries to other people who love their libraries. Let us know what you think of List watching.

Wikipedia uses the word "watchlist". I think that is the standard. Why does WorldCat.org separate out "watchlist" into two words?

That's a good point. I hadn't thought about it. But I wonder how many other people use MediaWiki, Wikipedia or any other wiki and would make the connection? Just thinking out loud. That's not why we chose to separate the two words. I have to say, we didn't really "choose" at all. We've been working on the feature for a while and through it all we referred to it as bookmarking or watching. When it came down to putting pixels to screen, we just landed on List Watching. (Or maybe I'm supposed to say: "After careful consideration and market testing we....")

Thanks for the response. I really was referring to the bottom of the page after the place where it says "You:" one of the selections is "My Watch List"
