Sponsored by the '''OCLC Developer Network''' and [http://iisg.nl/ IISH], the WorldCat Mashathon gives participants the opportunity for two full days of brainstorming and coding mash-ups with local systems and [http://techessence.info/apis/ other Web services] to take advantage of all that [http://www.worldcat.org/ WorldCat], the world’s largest bibliographic database, has to offer. * It’s a chance for anyone interested in structured data to get their hands on the [[SearchAPIDetails|WorldCat Search API]]. 
* Participants both inside and outside the library industry are encouraged to participate.
* Gain development access to over 135 million bibliographic records from more than 10,000 libraries worldwide.
* Integrate these resources with [http://techessence.info/apis many others] to create innovative new services.
* Share your creative vision and be a part of the next wave of online library development.

[http://roytennant.com/speaker.html Roy Tennant] of OCLC Research and longtime [http://code4lib.org/ Code4Lib] participant will kick off the session. Additional OCLC staff from across Europe will also be available for questions and breakout facilitation. Ideas, outcomes and code from the Mashathon, together with a linked participants list, will be shared during and after the event for others to download and build on.

Web Services provided for the Mashathon by OCLC include the following:

* Registries including institution, reviews, citations (lists), tagging

Bring your laptop, your ideas and your curiosity, and ''we’ll supply breakfast, lunch and snacks''. We will also facilitate forming dinner groups for Wednesday night. Also, every participant receives a [[MashathonShirt|t-shirt]]. 

A small registration fee of 25 Euros is required to participate. ''Space is limited to the first 65 participants'', so register early to assure your participation. So far, we have received registrations from Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States.
