Error messages and diagnostics

  • A full set of SRU diagnostic messages should be supported.

Ranking options

  • The ranking option "Score" does not sort results correctly.

UTF-8 Characters

  • Some UTF-8 characters are not properly handled in API search requests
  • UTF-8 characters are not properly handled in the URI Evaluator form

SRU Record Packing

  • The SRU recordPacking=string parameter is ignored, with results always returned in XML.

Resolved Issues

Fixed in Version 1.3, 26 May 2008

  • An XSLT stylesheet reference is incorrect (should be preceded by "/webservices"), so the HTML presentation of the SRU Explain XML response isn't working.

Fixed in Version 1.2, 12 May 2008

  • OpenSearch requests without a "q" parameter and value return a search for the keyword "null".
  • OpenSearch request count values are being ignored, returning 10 results regardless of value
  • The SRU Explain screen offers relation operators that are not supported
  • There is an error occurring in this demonstration site: http://worldcat.org/webservices/catalog/ajaxdemo.html?q=iraq+war
  • Embedding holdings data in the isohol namespace within MARC XML data prevents the XML result from validating against the MARC XML schema
