The flight = Beg by Aleksandr Alov ( Visual )
1 edition published in 2005 in Russian and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
The civil war was almost over. Pressed by the attacks of the Red Army, the White Guards fled in panic. Like a headlong avalanche, it carried along those who participated in the White movement and would not be reconciled with the new regime. Among those fleeing were Roman Khludov, member of the general staff of the Wrangel Army, privat-docent Golubkov, Serafima Korzukhina, wife of a St. Petersburg businessman, who renounced her to save his own skin, also General Charnota. They were fleeing in search of a better lot, in search of Russia they'd lost forever. Their lives took different courses, but each of them was to drain the "Constantinople cup" to the dregs, the bitter cup of living in emigration.--Container
