Handbook of adult development and learning by Carol Hren Hoare( Book )

19 editions published in 2006 in English and Spanish and held by 608 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The fields of psychology of aging and adult development have considered cognitive topics, such as concerns of work and retirement, and issues related to coping and bereavement. Meanwhile, the field of adult learning considers applied perspective topics. This book focuses on the dovetailing of adult development and learning. Although the field of lifespan human development began officially only fifty years ago in the U.S., a groundswell of research has been conducted in the last two decades. The fields of psychology of aging and adult development have considered cognitive topics, such as concerns of work and retirement, and issues related to coping and bereavement. Meanwhile, the field of adult learning has progressed largely independently, considering with an applied perspective topics, such as adult workplace learning, literacy development, cognitive strategies and teaching applications. Portions of these streams of conceptualisation and research imply a relationship between adult development and learning in adulthood; however, there is not one published book that has as its explicit focus the dovetailing of adult development and learning. "Handbook of Adult Development and Learning" will be the definitive work in this dual area
Erikson on development in adulthood : new insights from the unpublished papers by Carol Hren Hoare( Book )

13 editions published between 2001 and 2002 in English and held by 547 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Erik H. Erikson, one of the most prolific and famous psychologists of the twentieth century, is known for conceptualizing the "identity crisis" and for portraying the human as one who develops in eight stages from infancy through old age. Less well known is his extensive work on the psychosocial content that fuels adult development. For the past decade, Carol Hoare has written extensively on the concepts of adult development that are scattered throughout Erikson's work. She has been aided by extensive access to Erikson's unpublished papers at Harvard University and by her interviews with a number of persons who knew and worked with Erikson. Prominent among them was Joan Erikson, Erikson's wife and long-time collaborator
