Infrastructure for agents, multi-agent systems, and scalable multi-agent systems : International Workshop on Infrastructure for Scalable Multi-Agent Systems, Barcelona, Spain, June 3-7, 2000 : revised papers by Tom Wagner( )

37 editions published between 2001 and 2006 in English and held by 648 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Building research grade multi-agent systems usually involves a broad variety of software infrastructure ingredients like planning, scheduling, coordination, communication, transport, simulation, and module integration technologies and as such constitutes a great challenge to the individual researcher active in the area. The book presents a collection of papers on approaches that will help make deployed and large scale multi-agent systems a reality. The first part focuses on available infrastructure and requirements for constructing research-grade agents and multi-agent systems. The second part deals with support in infrastructure and software development methods for multi-agent systems that can directly support coordination and management of large multi-agent communities; performance analysis and scalability techniques are needed to promote deployment of multi-agent systems to professionals in software engineering and information technology."--Jacket
An application science for multi-agent systems( )

7 editions published in 2004 in English and held by 604 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

An Application Science For Multi-Agent Systems addresses the complexity of choosing which multi-agent control technologies are appropriate for a given problem domain or a given application. Without such knowledge, when faced with a new application domain, agent developers must rely on past experience and intuition to determine whether a multi-agent system is the right approach, and if so, how to structure the agents, how to decompose the problem, and how to coordinate the activities of the agents, and so forth. This unique collection of contributions, written by leading international researchers in the agent community, provides valuable insight into the issues of deciding which technique to apply and when it is appropriate to use them. The contributions also discuss potential trade-offs or caveats involved with each decision. An Application Science For Multi-Agent Systems is an excellent reference for anyone involved in developing multi-agent systems
Nanomaterials and nanoarchitectures : a complex review of current hot topics and their applications by Plasmonics, Environmental and Security Areas NATO Advanced Study Institute on Nanomaterials and Nanoarchitectures -- A Complex Review of Current Hot Topics and their Applications in Photovoltaics( )

8 editions published in 2015 in English and held by 263 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The current work consists of nine contributions describing recent progress in the interdisciplinary of Nanoscience, which involves physics, chemistry, engineering, biology and medicine and one essay outlining some important historical and socioeconomic factors pertaining to recent developments in nanoscale science and technology. All 10 chapters have been written by eminent experts in their respective fields. The authors employ the terms 'nanomaterials' as building blocks of a range of materials, 'nanoarchitecture' represents the design and 'nanotechnology' the means to produce a particular device or functionality. Two of the chapters are devoted to novel materials and two others focus on analyzing techniques, which can be used to enable molecular control of the film architecture. Additionally, the reader will find material devoted to photonic and hybrid plasmonic-photonic crystals as well as sections which address their applications, such as the use of plasmonic particles and nanostructures for new sensing concepts and ultrasensitive detection techniques. This work will be of interest to graduate students, researchers and practitioners alike

Modeling software with finite state machines : a practical approach by Ferdinand Wagner( Book )

1 edition published in 2019 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Modeling Software with Finite State Machines: A Practical Approach explains how to apply finite state machines to software development. It provides a critical analysis of using finite state machines as a foundation for executable specifications to reduce software development effort and improve quality. This book discusses the design of a state machine and of a system of state machines. It also presents a detailed analysis of development issues relating to behavior modeling with design examples and design rules for using finite state machines. This volume describes a coherent and well-tested fr
