The authors of the monograph express the hope that the analyzes and reflections contained in the volume will become a leaven to the debate on the shape of the pro-social activation model and the opportunities for its dissemination in our country, but also to evaluate the activation activities carried out so far. In other words, the authors take up the challenge of rethinking the Polish model of activation, with the intention of giving it unambiguously pro-social features, taking into account both civic rights, which the state should guarantee, and civic obligations of individuals towards communities without which society (at the level macro) and communities (at the mezzo level) remain only non-integrated territorial communities, unable (due to the social cohesion deficit) to include inclusion. To put it briefly, the pro-social approach is about increasing the subjectivity of individuals and at the same time social cohesion, and economic activity of the weaker people is one of the manifestations (confirmations) of the empowerment effect, and not the purpose of public intervention. Let's add, a desirable, but by no means decisive for the purposefulness and "success" of activating support, which is here oriented at the implementation of active social citizenship, understood as a state of possibly full participation of individuals in all spheres of social life
