A contemporary take on the classic Arthur Conan Doyle stories, Sherlock is a thrilling, funny, fast-paced adventure series set in present-day London. The iconic details from Conan Doyle's original books remain: they live at the same address, have the same names, and, somewhere out there, Moriarty is waiting for them. And so across three thrilling, scary, action-packed, and highly modern adventures, Sherlock and Watson navigate a maze of cryptic clues and lethal killers to get at the truth
The virgin and the gipsy and other stories by D. H Lawrence( Book )

11 editions published between 2005 and 2014 in English and held by 272 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The stories in this volume are from the last four years of D.H. Lawrence's writing life. Two powerful novellas dominate the collection: The Virgin and the Gipsy and The Escaped Cock (also known as The Man Who Died). Both of these deal with themes of escape and sexual awakening, but in very different contexts. In the first, a young woman from a restrictive English rectory learns about further dimensions to life through her contact with a gipsy; in the second, an unnamed resurrected man - Lawrence's vision of Christ - escapes from the tomb and likewise has a first sexual experience. Related themes are explored by four short stories and three fragments. This edition restores Lawrence's latest forms of the texts, before the changes introduced by censorship, mistakes in transmission and various other forms of interference, with variants recorded. The introduction traces the history of the stories, while the notes offer help with allusions, contexts and other points of potential difficulty or interest."--Jacket

Crowdfunding the future : media industries, ethics and digital society( Book )

"The concept of crowdfunding, where grassroots creative projects are funded by the masses through websites such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo, has been steadily gaining attention over the last few years. this book undertakes a dynamic interdisciplinary approach to the examination of the new, and growing, phenomenon of crowdfunding and its encompassment of digital society and media industries. The book offers a wide range of perspectives and empirical research, providing analyses of crowdfunded projects, the interaction between producers and audiences, and the role that websites such as Kickstarter play in discussions around fan agency and exploitation, as well as the ethics of crowdfunding. With a series of chapters covering a global range of disciplines and topics, this volume offers a comprehensive overview on crowdfunding, examining and unraveling the international debates around this increasingly popular practice.
