L'extinction d'espèce histoire d'un concept et enjeux éthiques by Julien Delord( Book )

3 editions published between 2010 and 2019 in French and held by 45 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"L'ouvrage de Julien Delord est à la fois un questionnement historique et une réflexion épistémologique sur le concept d'extinction. Alors que la "gravité" de l'extinction des espèces est peu discutée dans les médias, l'auteur nous montre que cette perception n'est pas et n'a pas été universellement partagée, que ce soit historiquement ou aujourd'hui au sein des disciplines scientifiques touchant au domaine de la biodiversité."--Avant-propos

Évolution, extinctions : le message des grenouilles by Alain Dubois( Book )

3 editions published in 2010 in French and held by 34 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Systematic and phylogenetic analysis of relationships between the members of the Southeast-Asian frogs of the Raninae, with particular emphasis on the Thai species by Yodchaiy Chuaynkern( Book )

2 editions published in 2009 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The phylogenetics analysis of the relationships between the members of the Raninae sensu DUBOIS (1992) was studied based on morphological data. Seventy-one taxa were included in the analyses including members of the genera Limnonectes, Amolops, Rana, Staurois and Rhacophorus. Among them, four taxa were treated as outgroup (Rana angolensis, Rana fuscigula, Limnonectes kuhlii and Rhacophorus rhodopus). A total of 241 morphological characters (123 from external morphology, 1 from tadpole and 118 from morphometry) were scored. Gap-weighting and step-matrix gap-weighting methods were adopted to code polymorphic and morphometric characters by using values of frequencies and means, respectively. The analysis was performed by using PAUP* (version 4.0b10).Results from gap-weighting coding yielded 2 equally shortest parsimonious trees with a length of 7901 steps, a CI of 0.415 and a RI of 0.3300. The tree obtained from the Neighbor-joining search has received tree length of 8029 steps, a CI of 0.4443 and a RI of 0.3102. Results from step-matrix gap-weighting coding yielded a single shortest tree with a length of 29606 steps, a CI of 0.1851 and a RI of 0.5852. The tree from Neighbor-joining search is chosen for describing the relationships among the groups.Although the aim of this study was to determine the relationships among the members of the Raninae sensu DUBOIS (1992), the results only partially support previous hypotheses of relationships within some groups. Results of the present work suggest that in further intensive phylogenetic analysis attention should be paid to Babina and Nidirana, Rana humeralis, Rana montivaga, Rana luctuosa, Rana malabarica, Odorrana and Eburana, and Sylvirana. The results demonstrate the choice among different methods for dealing with characters is important and the application of different methods to the same data produces different trees. Further, using characters on external morphology and morphometry only should not be enough to find the relationship patterns. Other kinds of data such as musculature, skeleton, chromosomes, behavior, ecology, tadpoles maybe adopted for reconstruction the phylogeny as well as the molecular data

2 editions published in 2007 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In southern Greece (Peloponnese) lives a terrestrial tortoise described by Bour in 1995 as a new species of the "Testudo marginata" complex: Testudo weissingeri. The description of this species prompted the publication of phylogenetic and morphometric studies with contradictory results. The object of this thesis is to bring a new light on this question by using methods never applied to the tortoises of the "Testudo marginata" complex : a population genetics analysis associated with morphometric, ecological and ethological analyses. This whole work leads to the recognition of two subspecies within the "Testudo marginata" complex. The sub-species Testudo marginata weissingeri, whose distribution area is very restricted and which suffers severe threats, should be placed as soon as possible on the red list of the CITES as a critically endangered taxon (CR)

2 editions published in 2003 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This study is about the abdomen and genitalia of the female Scarabaeoidea. The first part establish the structure and ground-plan of the genital segments. A bibliographic study allows us to make a nomenclatural revision. The second part is a detailed study of 114 taxa. For each species, abdominal type, terminalia and genital ducts are described and illustrated by several diagrams. The third and last part is a phylogenetic analysis realised exclusively with abdominal and genital characters. Character states distribution takes an important place and some evolutive tendances are defined and analysed. Finally this study gives us the opportunity to come back on the systemactic place of several taxa whose phylogenetic relationships are analysed according to the morphology of female abdomen and genitalia
Systématique et phylogénie des Neelipleona (Collemboles) by Clément Schneider( Book )

2 editions published in 2014 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Neelipleona are poorly studied in regard of the other three orders of Collembola. The group included only 30 species before the begining of this work. The diversity of the Neelipleona is poorly known, and is difficult to handle due to the lack of taxonomic accuracy that plagues the major studies dedicated to the group. A comprehensive work on the morphology of the group has been realized, based on a thorought comparizon of the various genus of Neelipleona. The morphological characters and their variations are described. The gained morphological knowledge allow a review of the anterior studies and an update of the systematic framework in compliance with the new standard. This work presages a futur complete revision of the order. The phylogenetic relationships between the main lineages of Springtails and the relationships within the Neelipleona have been studied from molecular data. The sampling add up 89 taxa, including 72 Springtails, 23 of which are Neelipleona. Five molecular markers selected from the four genes COI, 16S rDNA, 18S rDNA and 28S rDNA have been sequenced. The phylogeny has been infered with the parsimony criterion under the direct optimization scheme. A sensitivity analysis has been realized to study the robustness of nodes and root through the space of the sets of parameters for the transformations weighting. The high molecular divergence between the Sprintails and their closest relatives (Coneheads or Protura, Diplura and Insects) is the causes of a long branch attraction bias. Due to this bias the root hypothesis on the Springtails' tree is very weak and so the relationships between the main lineages remain unclear
Phylogeny and evolution of vocalizations in a frog family : are torrent ranid advertisement calls adaptative ? by Sandra Goutte( Book )

2 editions published in 2014 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
