7 editions published in 2017 in 3 languages and held by 84 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The Triennial The Garden - End of Times, Beginning of Times will thematise man's coexistence with and view on nature; how diverse world views (be they religious, political, ideological, cultural, or scientific) have manifested themselves in man-made natural landscapes for centuries. There will be art which intervenes in and uses nature on a grand scale. The narrative will span a period of 400 years and address the past, the present, and the future."--Page 11
JFW : den vilde, vovede og sene Willumsen = wild, bold and late Willumsen by J. F Willumsen( Book )

1 edition published in 2016 in Danish and held by 23 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Revealing a bolder side of J.F. Willumsen (1863-1958) than the one we usually see. With this exhibition, ARoS will be stretching the traditional view of Willumsen by focusing on underexposed sides of his many motifs? those sides that were formerly dismissed as kitsch or even bad art, and which occasionally resulted in Willumsen now and again dropping out of Danish art history. The exhibition will e.g. seek to address how Willumsen in many ways was ahead of his time. A number of his best known works will be presented in innovative ways at ARoS.00Exhibition: ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Aarhus, Denmark (26.11.2016-05.03.2017)

Building stories : E.B. Itso by E. B Itso( Book )

5 editions published in 2015 in Danish and English and held by 18 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In 'Building stories' ARoS presents the wide span of E.B. Itso's art production - a journey to the centre of the earth, constructions built by the artist himself and suspended from the ceiling, and also the fronts of demolished houses. The exhibition highlights E.B. Itso's particular kind of engagement and his marked preference for the overlooked existences of those living on the margins of society. He went to (the Italian island of) Lampedusa himself, where he collected clothes, geographical maps and remnants of boats, all left behind by refugees on their arrival to the island. "E.B. Itso is inspired by the overlooked. He lends a voice to those who normally do not have one, and by displaying their discarded belongings he turns them into more than just numbers. They become human beings," says Jakob Vengberg Sevel. Exhibition: ARoS Kunstmuseum, Aarhus, Denmark (13.06.15 - 20.09.15)

Gardar Eide Einarsson : a madman, a patient, a condemned man, a worker or a schoolboy by Gardar Eide Einarsson( Book )

4 editions published in 2015 in Danish and English and held by 17 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Einarsson’s raw, angular and stringently narrative universe is the first in a series of exhibitions entitled ARoS FOCUS//NEW NORDIC to run over a three-year period in the ARoS West Gallery. Gardar Eide Einarsson was born in 1976 in Norway. Einarsson uses found materials, pictures and symbols and converts them into posters, photos, paintings, videos and installations. His artistic universe is angular, raw, often black-and-white and generally uncompromising. Two kinds of imagery come together in Einarsson: graffiti print emerging from the skater culture and the stringency of modern art. His art includes references to politics, pop culture and power structures besides being critical of institutions. It is full of action and consequence and must be explored by the visitor in pursuit of meaning and nexus. 'A Madman, a Patient, a Condemned Man, a Worker or a Schoolboy' is an integrated installation consisting of two parts that are interrelated. Its underlying message will gradually become apparent, bringing our common history and knowledge into play and giving us food for thought.00Exhibition: ARoS Kunstmuseum, Aarhus, Denmark (07.03.-17.05.2015)

Cool, calm and collected by calm and collected Cool( Book )

2 editions published in 2017 in Danish and held by 13 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Cool, Calm and Collected is a song by the Rolling Stones about being suavely self-assured, but the expression is also used to describe a cool, Scandinavian aesthetic. The phrase serves as the title of this special exhibition featuring Danish contemporary artists who, in spite of their different approaches, all actively engage with an aesthetically stringent, poetic and cool formal idiom. Overall, the exhibition showcases the aestheticizing tendency evident in many Danish artists over the course of the last fifteen years. At the same time the exhibition wishes to demonstrate the great diversity of their work, partly in their choice of materials and media, but also in the themes selected. For even though an overall aesthetic tendency seems to dominate the Danish art scene, the alluring exteriors of the art often hide surprisingly subversive, conceptual or critical content seething beneath the surface
