In doctoral thesis in the preface we will introduce some basic concepts, definitions and the significant results in the field of algebra. We shall consider the functional equations related to derivations, centralizers and other similar mappings on prime rings, semi prime ring and standard operator algebras. In this area for many years operates the Slovenian mathematicians who made with their results a significant impact on the development of this area. Already in the eighties they were strongly active in this field J. Vukman, M. Brešar, followed by B. Zalar, B. Hvala and recently, M. Fošner, I Kosi-Ulbl, D. Benkovič, D. Eremita, A. Fošner, N. Peršin and N. Širovnik. Fixed asset in solving functional equations, which will be presented in the thesis, is the theory of functional identities, which was introduced by M. Brešar in the year 2000 cite {87}. In 2007, M. Brešar, M.A. Chebotar and W.S. Martindale III also presented it in the book cite {MB4}. The theory of functional identities will be presented in the thesis together with the polynomial identities and d-free sets

Asociativne superalgebre in jordanske strukture : doktorska disertacija by
Maja Fošner(

The main goal of the thesis is to present the theory of Jordan structures in associative algebras, superalgebras and graded algebras, and the theory of the extended centroid of associative superalgebras. The opening chapter, where the basic preliminaries on algebras, superalgebras, Jordan superalgebras, graded algebras, and Jordan color algebras are surveyed, is followed by three chapters. The second chapter considers Jordan ideals in associative algebras, superalgebras, and graded algebras. Introducing a new product in $\mathcal{A}$, the so called Jordan product, by $x \circ y = xy + yx$, $\mathcal{A}^+ = (\mathcal{A},+,\circ)$ becomes a Jordan algebra. The question what is the connection between the structural properties of algebras $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{A}^+$ is considered. We present a new approach which yields generalizations and new proofs of some known results, in particular the classical Hernstain theorems. Our approach is also applicable to the study of Jordan ideals of symmetric elements in algebras with involution. Moreover, modifications of our methods work in a more recently developed theory of graded algebras, in particular superalgebras. As in ordinary algebras, one can study the connection between the structure of a graded algebra and the structure of associated Jordan color algebra. In this context we present some results on Jordan ideals of graded algebras. In the third chapter we consider Jordan mappings of superalgebras and graded algebras. In the 1950's Herstein initiated the study of the relationship between homomorphisms (resp. derivations) of algebra $\mathcal{A}$ and homomorphisms (resp. derivations) of a Jordan algebra $\mathcal{A}^+$. We extend classical Herstein's results to the setting of superalgebras and graded algebras. We describe Jordan superderivations on superalgebras, and Jordan $\epsilon$-derivations on graded algebras. In the theory of prime associative algebras the concept of extended centroid has turned out to be very useful in various areas, in particular in the theory of Lie and Jordan structures in associative algebras. Its basic properties are briefly surveyed in the fourth chapter. The main goal of this chapter, however, is to study extended centroid of prime associative superalgebras. Several applications of the results that we obtain are presented. In particular, super-biderivations are characterized, and superderivations whose product is again a superderivation are described
