Since the 1990s, there has been an intensive theoretical exploration of the concept of "world literature", whereby again and again Slavic texts are referred to (Thomsen, Moretti, Casanova, Apter, Damrosch). Here, world literature is not understood in the sense of a canon of aesthetically particularly high-ranking or often accepted works, but in accordance with the perspective described by Thomsen perspective, the literature is not primarily subdivided into national subsystems, but initially emanates from an international literary field, within which different groupings of texts and spellings result. Especially in the Slavic literatures of the present, which are multilingual and multicultural, it can be shown that such subsystems not only go beyond national contexts, but that they quite naturally do not originate from such ones and from the outset in several languages, cultures and regions located in the world. The conference provides an opportunity to relate recent theories of world literature to current developments in contemporary Slavic literatures
