James Billington married Anna America Garner in Essex County, New Jersey, in 1742. They may have had 5 children. James died in 1764. Anna remarried that same year to James Rolson. He also died, and she married in 1767 to John Roskrow. Their son, Ezekiel Billington, was born in 1759 in New Jersey. He fought in the Revolutionary War and stayed in North Carolina after the war. He married in 1784 to Elizabeth Penny, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Balentine Penny of Johnston County, North Carolina. They had 12 children. In 1810 the family moved to Tennessee where his wife died. In 1829 Ezekiel married Esther (Hetty) Sargent. Ezekiel died in 1848. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and elsewhere
