Symmetries in elementary particle physics by Antonino Zichichi( Book )

31 editions published in 1965 in 3 languages and held by 362 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Symmetries in Elementary Particle Physics focuses on the processes, methodologies, advancements, and reactions in elementary particle physics. The selection first offers information on symmetry principles in particle physics and vector and axial currents under first order symmetry breaking. Discussions focus on restrictions following from charge conjugation; non-renormalization theorem for the vector current octet; second class amplitudes for leptonic decays; and discrete symmetry operations. The text then takes a look at methods for assigning spin and parity to baryon resonances and general

Electromagnetic Probes of Fundamental Physics : Erice, Sicily, Italy, 16-21 October 2001 by William J Marciano( Book )

6 editions published in 2003 in English and held by 49 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This book constitutes the proceedings of a workshop which originated from a discussion with Professor A Zichichi in March 2001. The purpose of the meeting was to celebrate two developments at Brookhaven that, in both cases, are the outcome of more than a decade of preparation: the new muon g-2 measurement and the flood of data that started pouring out of RHIC. Bringing together people from these very different fields was an interesting challenge. But, at the time, when a small community of heavy ion physicists was beginning to define a program of electromagnetic interactions at RHIC and LHC, it seemed logical. The result is the white paper "Hot Topics in Ultra-peripheral Collisions". On Fermi's centennial, his original paper, developing for the first time the equivalent photon approximation, seemed to merit renewed attention. The paper has been translated into English from the Italian and included in the proceedings

This book is unique in expanding the boundaries of neuroscience, while remaining solidly grounded within it. In this, it outlines a new plateau of wider integrative understanding both within and beyond neuroscience. The book advances the view and implications of an integrated functional unity of consciousness and brain, inclusive of freedom of will. It reaches from first principles of human awareness and apprehension and the physical foundations of consciousness, through a structured integrative view of consciousness and the brain, to outlines of the ambient contextual influences of human living. Comprehensive overviews of brain theory and theoretical neuroscience are given

Searching for the superworld : a volume in honor of Antonino Zichichi on the occasion of the sixth centenary celebrations of the University of Turin, Italy by S Ferrara( )

1 edition published in 2007 in English and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The?Superworld? is a subject of formidable interest for the immediate future of subnuclear physics to which Zichichi has contributed with a series of important papers of phenomenological and theoretical nature. These papers represent a must-have collection, not only for their originality but also for their complete analysis of expected scenarios on the basis of today?s knowledge of physics. The contributions are divided into two parts. The first deals with the problem of the convergence of the three fundamental forces of nature measured by the gauge couplings, with the onset of the energy thr
