"The Journey of Coronado, by Pedro de Casteneda (1596)" is an account written by Pedro de Castenada of an expedition that the Spanish conquistador Francisco Vazquez de Coronado (c.1510-1554) undertook in 1540 in Mexico in search of the Seven Cities of Cibola, which were reputed to be very rich. The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and the Washington Educational Television Authority (WETA) present the information as part of a companion Web site to their documentary television program entitled "New Perspectives on the West."
