Japanese lantern slides from the E. Raymond Wilson Collection [in the] Swarthmore College Peace Collection ( )

The lantern slides in this collection were gathered by E. Raymond Wilson while in Japan from September 1926 to September 1927, having been awarded the Japanese Brotherhood Scholarship for study and the building of friendships. The 257 lantern slides illustrate beautiful sites and scenery, daily life of all classes of people including children, agricultural practices, schools and universities, and the peoples of Formosa. Most of the slides were created by professional photographers (including T. Takagi and Futaba) and were hand-tinted by artists; a few of the slides were made from photographs taken by Wilson himself. The record for each slide contains an image of the item, descriptive data, provenance, and other information as known

Series F contains a variety of materials that document the NCPW's specific endeavors. Also included are manuscripts and drafts of Frederick Libby's book, To End War (1969), his writings, speeches, and attacks upon both him and the NCPW.
