Beowulf
(
Book
)
14 editions published between 1952 and 1995 in English and held by 611 libraries worldwide The poem Beowulf was written down in the tenth century but was certainly recited or told many hundreds of years before that. It is the oldest written poem of its kind in the Old English. Julian Glover has produced a unique edited text adapted from the translations by Michael Alexander and Edwin Morgan. To enhance this, he has inserted several short extracts from the Old English text. He has brought to life the most original heroic tale of the Dark Ages.
