Hopalong Cassidy could fan a gun every bit as well as Billy the Kid. Six rounds in three seconds was his slowest time, and not a soul in the grand state of Texas could beat him. Until he met Slim Travennes, head of the Sandy Creek Vigilante Committee. Slim was snake-fast. No man could go up against him and live. No man. Hoppy could stand or die. He had no other choice. None at all. Hopalong Cassidy has endured as one of the most popular and beloved of American legends ever. The hero of twenty-eight Western novels, Hoppy was known as "The epitome of gallantry and fair play." With non-stop action, the legend lives on as "Hoppy" battles crime and upholds justice with his quick-draw, clear thinking, fists of steel, and steadfast character

Johnny Nelson thought life on the Bar-20 was the best. Even after most of his friends had moved to the Tin Cup in Montana, he'd stayed on the Bar-20 in Texas. When farmers, sheep, barbed wire, and railroad towns made life unbearable, Johnny moved north to join his friends on the Tin Cup. But it seemed his friends were suffering from matrimony disease and were no longer available for Johnny's idea of a good time. Johnny figured he'd have to get married too if he was going to fit in and that wasn't happening. So he left to find greater adventure. Riding into Hastings, he's mistaken for a man named Logan and decides to head out to the CL ranch to find Logan and maybe land a job. Logan takes an instant liking to Nelson, especially after learning he is from the Bar-20. Logan hires Nelson and soon the two are plotting to catch the rustlers who have been stealing CL cattle

Buck Peters, ranchman by
Clarence E Mulford(
Book
)
26 editions published between 1901 and 2018 in 3 languages and held by 429 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
When Buck Peters went to Montana to start a new ranch, he found his partner dead, his cowhands being slaughtered like steers, himself shot full of holes, and a neighbor stealing his stock. All that could only mean one thing - a range war was imminent. Only Hopalong Cassidy could help Buck now - but he was in Texas with a new bride and a ranch to run. Hoppy had no choice. He was Buck's last hope. He had to come. Bill "Hopalong" Cassidy, an illiterate, tobacco-chewing, hard drinking, able-swearing son of the Old West, is one of the most popular fictional characters in American Western literature and the creation of quiet Illinois writer Clarence E. Mulford. Catching the eye of film producer Harry Sherman, Hopalong Cassidy became a movie staple with 66 Hopalong Cassidy film releases in the course of 13 years. The series was so popular that Life, Look and TV Guide published cover stories on the Hopalong Cassidy craze
