Hypergraphs : combinatorics of finite sets by Claude Berge( Book )

17 editions published between 1984 and 1989 in English and held by 353 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Graph Theory has proved to be an extremely useful tool for solving combinatorial problems in such diverse areas as Geometry, Algebra, Number Theory, Topology, Operations Research and Optimization. It is natural to attempt to generalise the concept of a graph, in order to attack additional combinatorial problems. The idea of looking at a family of sets from this standpoint took shape around 1960. In regarding each set as a ``generalised edge'' and in calling the family itself a ``hypergraph'', the initial idea was to try to extend certain classical results of Graph Theory such as the theorems of Tur̀n and K̲nig. It was noticed that this generalisation often led to simplification; moreover, one single statement, sometimes remarkably simple, could unify several theorems on graphs. This book presents what seems to be the most significant work on hypergraphs
Topics on perfect graphs by V Chvtal( Book )

18 editions published between 1983 and 1984 in English and Undetermined and held by 267 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The purpose of this book is to present selected results on perfect graphs in a single volume. These take the form of reprinted classical papers, survey papers or new results
Combinatorial mathematics : proceedings of the International Colloquium on Graph Theory and Combinatorics, Marseille-Luminy, June 1981 by Claude Berge( Book )

16 editions published in 1983 in English and held by 260 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The object of this book is to provide an account of the results and methods used in combinatorial theories: Graph Theory, Matching Theory, Hamiltonian Problems, Hypergraph Theory, Designs, Steiner Systems, Latin Squares, Coding Matroids, Complexity Theory. In publishing this volume, the editors do not intend to discuss all the classical open problems in combinatorics for which an algebraic approach turns out to be useful. The work is a selection which is intended for specialists, as well as for graduate students who may also be interested in survey papers. The work features a special section which contains a list of unsolved problems proposed by the participants

Fractional graph theory : a rational approach to the theory of graphs by Edward R Scheinerman( Book )

5 editions published between 1978 and 1997 in English and held by 65 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Fractional Graph Theory explores the various ways in which integer-valued graph theory concepts can be modified to derive nonintegral values. Based on the authors' extensive review of the literature, it provides a unified treatment of the most important results in the study of fractional graph concepts." "Supplemented with many challenging exercises in each chapter as well as an abundance of references and bibliographic material, Fractional Graph Theory is a comprehensive reference for researchers and an excellent graduate-level text for students of graph theory and linear programming."--Jacket

Graph theory in Paris : proceedings of a conference in memory of Claude Berge : GT04, Paris by Adrian Bondy( Book )

3 editions published in 2007 in English and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In July 2004, a conference on graph theory was held in Paris in memory of Claude Berge, one of the pioneers of the field. The event brought together many prominent specialists on topics, such as perfect graphs and matching theory, upon which Claude Berge's work has had a major impact. This volume includes contributions to these and other topics from many of the participants
