5 editions published between 1989 and 1990 in English and held by 94 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Lecture Series will review developments in research, manufacture and exploitation of new light alloys (based on Aluminium and Magnesium) for structural applications in aeronautics and space. These new alloys exhibit significant potential for reducing structural weight and are gaining recognition as competitive materials within the aerospace industries. Topics to be addressed in the lectures include: metal physics and processing aspects, properties of existing materials and prospects for future developments and exploitation. This Lecture Series, sponsored by the Structures and Materials Panel of AGARD, has been implemented by the Consultant and Exchange Programme
Handbook of brittle material design technology by W. H Dukes( Book )

5 editions published between 1966 and 1971 in English and held by 94 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Contents: Principles of brittle material; Establishment of design stresses
Environmentally safe and effective processes for paint removal = Procédés efficaces et ecologiques pour l'enlèvement des peintures by North Atlantic Treaty Organization( Book )

6 editions published between 1993 and 1995 in English and held by 88 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: Paint stripping and repainting of aircraft surfaces are required periodically during the operating lifetime of an aircraft. Historically, paint removal has been achieved with chemical strippers. These materials often contain toxic components and create hazardous working conditions. It is necessary to ensure that alternate paint removal techniques are available that can be performed in a cost effective, environmentally safe manner without causing damage to aircraft surfaces

Structural design applications of mathematical programming techniques by North Atlantic Treaty Organization( Book )

3 editions published in 1971 in English and held by 61 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The document describes the present state of development of the use of mathematical programming techniques in the optimum design of aerospace and similar structures. Although optimization with respect to cost is considered when possible, the main emphasis is on the minimization of weight, due to the overwhelming importance of this parameter in aerospace applications, and also due to the fact that it is one of the few merit functions that can be defined with reasonable precision. The use of mathematical programming techniques in the selection of materials is also discussed to the limited extent meaningful at the present time. (Author)
Fracture mechanics of aircraft structures by Organisation Du Traité De L'Atlantique Nord. Bruxelles. Agard. Neuilly-sur-Seine. Groupe de travail des structures et matériaux( Book )

1 edition published in 1974 in English and held by 60 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The elements of fractography by D. A Ryder( Book )

2 editions published in 1971 in English and held by 57 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The monograph is intended to serve as an introduction to 'Fractography' which may be defined as the examination of fracture surfaces at magnifications ranging from x1 to x100,000. The terminology on fracture and those factors which control the mechanical properties of engineering materials are described in Chapter 1. Chapters 2 and 3 consider fracture in general terms and the instruments available for fracture surface analysis. Chapters 4 and 5 discuss experimental and operational techniques, the use of transmission electron microscopy. Chapters 6 to 9 consider a particular mode of fracture and its characteristic features. Chapter 10 deals briefly with non-metallic and composite materials. The last two chapters describe the application of fractography to investigations of service failures and the techniques used in fracture research. (Author)
AGARD engine disc cooperative test programme = Rapport sur le programme d'essais commun des disques moteur (supplément) by A. J. A Mom( Book )

4 editions published between 1988 and 1993 in English and held by 56 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"As a result of the very large size of the test programme, it appeared to be convenient from an administrative point of view to divide it into a Core Programme followed by Supplemental Programmes. In the Core Programme all the laboratories performed identical fatigue and fracture test for one material, Ti-6-A1-4V, at constant amplitude and at room temperature The summary of these test is included in AGARD Report 776. For the supplemental Programme, three materials were tested, Ti-6A1-4V, IMI 685 and Ti17, under both constant amplitude and under variable amplitude TURBISTAN loading sequences. Test were performed at room temperature, high temperature test became a separate activity and will be reported in another report. Five crack models were evaluated and their predictions were verified by experimental data. ... The present Report, written by 11 authors, includes the summary of test and analysis
