El laberinto de Fortuna; o, Las trescientas by Juan de Mena( Book )

41 editions published between 1943 and 1973 in Spanish and Undetermined and held by 814 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Incomplete text of Juan de Mena's poem El Laberinto de fortuna, dedicated to Juan II of Castile. This edition derives from the 1499 Seville edition by Hernán Núñez. This manuscript contains stanzas 1-88 and 155-300. Fol. 17r-25r are ruled but blank; the scribe was probably working from a manuscript that was illegible or incomplete, and left these pages blank, intending to complete them later. Stanzas 245 and 245 are transposed; lacking stanzas 271 and 272 and last two lines of stanza 299. Some textual variants probably due to the scribe's imperfect knowledge of Castilian

Eventually, he left politics and devoted himself to literature and religious meditation. Many of his writings have been lost, like Libro de los Cantares, a collection of poems and Reglas cómo se debe trovar, the oldest treaty of Castilian versification.
