Found guilty of sedition, he was sentenced to fourteen years transportation to Botany Bay, where he mingled with radical convicts and United Irishmen and at the same time acted as an informant to Governor King. He was subsequently sent in turn to Norfolk Island, Van Dieman's Land, and Newcastle, arriving back in England in 1810"--D & E Lake bookseller's description
