Assessment of the Canadian upstream petroleum industry's current state-of-preparedness for dealing with oil spills resulting from exploration and producing activities. The study uses realistic worst case scenarios to assess the industry's ability to respond to large offshore spills caused by oilwell blow-outs in the Beaufort Sea, Grand Banks, and Scotian Shelf areas during drilling and onshore oil spills from a variety of sources.
