Lyndon B. Johnson's vice-presidential acceptance speech is intercut with shots of the Coliseum, the crowds, and Rose Kennedy, seated next to her son John. LeRoy Collins, governor of Florida, makes a few remarks, introduces Kennedy's family, and the next speaker, Adlai Stevenson. Stevenson speaks, then introduces Kennedy. Kennedy makes his acceptance speech. Governor Collins then introduces Elder Leo J. Mueller (?) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, who pronounces the Benediction. After the National Anthem, Governor Collins adjourns the convention. Walter Cronkite, Edward R. Murrow, Al Kendrick, and Howard K. Smith discuss "interesting aspects" of, and the significance of, Kennedy's speech. Cronkite briefly interviews the three Westinghouse spokespersons, Betty Furness, Babby? (possibly Betty Furness' daughter, Barbara Sturtevant Furness Snyder), and Fred Davis

Jackie describes the campaign trail, Jean describes life at Cape Cod; Rose discusses Massachusetts historic sites and their value in teaching children United States history. Home movies show the Shriver family (Eunice, Sargent, Bobby and Maria), the Robert Kennedy family (Bobby, Ethel, Kathleen and other children) and the Lawford family (Peter, Pat, Christopher and Sydney). John F. Kennedy then joins the group to discuss his experience, ask for voter turnout, and take calls from viewers. Questions cover military strength, unemployment compensation, education, labor racketeering, the Kennedy-Ives Bill, cost of living increases, civil rights, social security, Kennedy's health, New England airline safety, and the prospect of war. Kennedy also fields humorous questions about Jackie, kissing babies, etc. He thanks everyone, then joins Jackie and daughter Caroline
