Trail Ridge and the Baywood Promontory are two of the most conspicuous ridges in the northern peninsular Florida. Drilling in these by means of a specially designed core barrel recovered loose to slightly consolidated sands composing the ridges. Detailed analyses were made of these sands and other sediments penetrated. The purpose of this report was to demonstrate the value of these data to the studies of ancient sea-level stands in peninsular Florida

The proposed landfill site for Clearwater is in east-central Pinellas County with an area of 320 acres. The site is about 50 feet above sea level. One aquifer in the area is composed of sand containing a limestone zone; the other is composed of limestone. Water moves laterally through both aquifers from west to east. The use of sanitary landfill for solid-waste disposal overcomes some of the serious health and esthetic problems associated with open-dump disposal
Geologic framework of the high transmissivity zones in south Florida by Harbans Singh Puri( Book )

The passage of the Federal Clean Streams Act of 1966 has discouraged the discharge of industrial and municipal wastes into surface waters. The Florida Aquifer underlies the entire State of Florida and adjoining parts of Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. Industrially, it is important to understand the hydrologic and geologic factors involved which control horizontal and vertical fluid movements in the aquifer in order to be able to predict the ultimate direction of migration and rate of flow of the liquid wastes which may be injected into the system
