Imeneo by George Frideric Handel( )

12 editions published between 1986 and 2004 in Italian and English and held by 517 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Fabio Biondi presented here with Europa Galante and a handpicked ensemble of singers (including with mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg) a rousing recording of late Handel opera Imeneo. You can hear the work in the Dublin version of 1742, where it came as Serenata entitled Hymen performed. For this version, the composer added a few new arias and shortened the libretto carefully. Fabio Biondi brings here again all his experience and his enthusiasm for baroque music. As a result, we hear an engaging and very successful interpretation of these maligned unjustly neglected and Handel opera
