The great controversy between Christ and Satan; the conflict of the ages in the Christian dispensation by Ellen Gould Harmon White( Book )

81 editions published between 1895 and 2012 in English and held by 1,161 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This volume presents the most wonderful and intensely interesting history that has ever been written of the great confilct between Christianity and the Powers of Darkness. The period of history covered is one of the deepest interest to all classes of readers. Beginning with our Lord's great prophecy given while viewing Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, in which He outlines the history of the whole dispensation, it sketches the fulfillment. It calls our attention to the bitter persecutions of the Christians in the first centuries, and notes the rise and growth of the Papacy. Considerable space is given to the life, work, and infuence of later reformers and great religious leaders, and this is followed by chapters treating upon The Orgin of Evil, The Agency of Evil Spirits, The Snares of Satan, and the Judgment. The closing chapters give a vivid picture of the warfare of the church, her final redemption, and vividly describe the triumph of the people of God, the destruction of Satan and all his followers, and the renewing of the earth, which ends the awful controversy between the Son og God and the Powers of Darkness. - 1. Destruction of Jerusalem. 2. Persecution in the First Centuries. 3. The Apostasy. 4. The Waldenses. 5. John Wycliffe. 6. Huss and Jerome. 7. Luther's Separation from Rome. 8. This book has been around a while. Since it was first published, a lot of other books about health have come and gone. Some of them have been bigger than this one, but none of them have ever been better. Perhaps you have noticed the explosion in diet and exercise publications. Today it is obvious that the pursuit of health and fitness is more than just a quick fad. Looking and feeling good isn't optional, for many people these days, it's a high lifestyle priority. "The Ministry of Healing" is a book that crusades for total fitness, not just physical fitness because we are human beings and are more than just bodies. This book speaks to the needs of the whole person, body, mind and spirit. For a whole lot less than one visit to the Doctor, this classic on health will tell you how to manage stress, get well and prevent disease while feeling vibrantly alive. - The True Medical Missionary. The Work of the Physician.Medical Missionaries and Their Work. The Care of the Sick.Health Principles. The Home .The Essential Knowledge. The Worker's Need.Scripture Index.General Index

Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing by Ellen Gould Harmon White( Book )

162 editions published between 1896 and 2013 in 24 languages and held by 634 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Hundreds of thousands of copies of Thoughts From the Mount of Blessing have been printed and distributed in nearly a score of languages since it was first published in 1896. In English reading countries several editions with identical textual content but with variations in format and pagination have been widely distributed. To eliminate confusion in the use of the volume in reference work, a standard page has been adopted which will serve as the basis of present and subsequent printings. In several formal editions, in an endeavor to achieve a certain format, selections form verses of poetry were, with the consent of the author, inserted by the publishers in a number of places throughout the text. In this edition, only poetry selected and made a part of the text by the author herself is retained. The addition of both Scripture and subject indexes makes this volume more useful. That the lessons drawn from the teachings of the Master herein set forth may continue to enlighten, encourage, and bless mankind, is the sincere wish of the publishers and the trustees of the Ellen G. White Publication. - 1. On the Mountainside, 2. The Beatitudes, 3. The Spirituality of the Law, 4. The True Motive in Service, 5. The Lord's Prayer, 6. Not Judging, but Doing
The desire of ages : the conflict of the ages illustrated in the life of Christ by Ellen Gould Harmon White( Book )

48 editions published between 1898 and 2005 in English and held by 565 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

You see it all around you every day. You may even feel it in the turmoil within you. The desperate tug-of-war between love and selfishness. The seesaw battle between the principle of giving and the creed of getting. Before the great universal war began, only love reigned. And when the war is over, only love will reign again. But in this long and bitter interim, the conflict rages again. Is selfishness the better way? Would the universe be a better place if each of us spent our energies looking out for Number One? Or is happiness the result of looking our for others? In The Desire of Ages, these two great principles are most clearly revealed to the universe. On the one hand, Jesus Christ comes to this earth in person to live and love--to show what God is really like. On the other, Satan exhibits the ultimate outworking of his rule of selfishness as he goads his followers into murdering his Creator. Here, in stark contrast, you will see the issues of this very real battle between good and evil. And here in this book, you will be challenged to make a choice between them--cover
Education by Ellen Gould Harmon White( Book )

93 editions published between 1903 and 2013 in 16 languages and held by 517 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Education is more than just classes and books, tests and grades. It is more than teachers transferring information to students. It is more than simply filling human memory banks with knowledge.Real education is preparation for life--life here and now and life hereafter. It is, as the author of this classic volume writes, "the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers." True education prepares students not only for careers and vocations but for service.Such a view of education stands in contrast to all limited, traditional, and humanistic definitions of learning. The revolutionary thesis of this book is that education which reaches beyond knowledge to wisdom can only be obtained through an understanding of God--and that this understanding, in turn, can be obtained only through regular communication with Him.
