Sir John Johnson (1742-1830), knight and baronet, was the son of Sir William Johnson and Catherine Wisenberg Johnson of Johnson Hall, Tyron (later Fulton) County, New York. He married Mary Watts, daughter of John Watts, in 1773. They had eight children, 1775- 1792. An American Loyalist, he served with the "King's Royal Regiment of New York" during the Revolutionary War. The family later immigrated to Monreal, Canada
