37 editions published between 1954 and 2016 in 3 languages and held by 1,267 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Stravinsky conceived the idea of a small-scale theatrical work towards the end of the First World War. Collaborating with Swiss writer Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz and painter and designer René-Victor Auberjonois, he wrote Histoire du Soldat (The Soldier's Tale), derived from a Russian folk tale by Alexander Afanasyev. It is scored for narrator, two speakers and an instrumental septet - 'to be read, played and danced' as there is also a non-speaking dancing role. The Faustian morality tale is rendered as a music drama of extraordinary rhythmic charge and gripping power
Terror on the mountain by C. F Ramuz( Book )

212 editions published between 1925 and 2014 in 9 languages and held by 1,101 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

(Payot.ch)

Le garc̜on savoyard, roman by C. F Ramuz( Book )

63 editions published between 1930 and 2008 in 3 languages and held by 457 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The Young Man from Savoy is the story of Joseph Jacquet, "a young man unlike others." The existence of this village boy, hired out as a hand on a schooner, seems fated to unravel from the moment he glimpses the mesmerizing Miss Anabella, a high-wire artiste with a traveling circus. She becomes the object of Joseph's fantasizing obsession, and a catalyst for the bizarre and brutal acts that ensue." "Set at the beginning of the twentieth century in a French mountainside village overlooking Lake Geneva, this tale of all-consuming love plays out against a backdrop that is at once idyllic and askew. Vividly imagined and masterfully wrought, The Young Man from Savoy is a meditative page-turner, a novel whose spare, mutedly lyrical prose stands in contrast to the dramatic tale it recounts. In this remarkable work, acclaimed French Swiss writer C-F Ramuz has left us a lasting legacy, a work of laconic and unsettling power."--Jacket
Farinet; ou, La fausse monnaie by C. F Ramuz( Book )

103 editions published between 1932 and 2013 in 3 languages and held by 423 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
