2 editions published in 1981 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Since 1959 the trend in nursing education in the United States has been away from hospital based diploma education and toward baccalaureate preparation in institutions of higher education. The development of baccalaureate nursing education in Ohio has followed this trend. However, in Ohio the majority of new baccalaureate nursing programs begun since 1970 have been located in private liberal arts institutions. Liberal arts institutions traditionally have not had highly visible occupational preparation and nursing education is viewed as professional or occupational preparation. Why does a liberal arts institution decide to add a non-traditional program and what happens when such a program is added?
