Modern JavaScript by Sebastian Seitz( )

4 editions published in 2017 in English and held by 176 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

It's not uncommon these days to see people complaining about just how complex JavaScript development seems to have become. We can have some sympathy with that view when it's coming from someone new to the language. If you're learning JS, it won't take long for you to be exposed to the enormity of the ecosystem and the sheer number of moving pieces you need to understand (at least conceptually) to build a modern web application. Package management, linting, transpilation, module bundling, minification, source maps, frameworks, unit testing, hot reloading... it can't be denied that this is a lot more complex that just including a couple of script tags in your page and FTPing it up to the server. Included topics: The Anatomy of a Modern JavaScript Application by James Kolce An Introduction to Gulp.js by Craig Buckler The Basics of DOM Manipulation in Vanilla JavaScript (No jQuery) by Sebastian Seitz A Beginner's Guide to Webpack 2 and Module Bundling by Mark Brown React vs Angular: An In-depth Comparison by Pavels Jelisejevs Retrofit Your Website as a Progressive Web App by Craig Buckler 10 Tips to Become a Better Node Developer by Azat Mardan An Introduction to Functional JavaScript by M. David Green An Introduction to Chart.js 2.0 : Six Simple Examples by Jack Rometty Learning JavaScript Test-Driven Development by Example by James Wright This book is for intermediate level JavaScript developers. Some experience of JavaScript development is assumed
Modern JavaScript tools & skills by James Kolce( )

3 editions published in 2018 in English and held by 167 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

There's no doubt that the JavaScript ecosystem changes fast. Not only are new tools and frameworks introduced and developed at a rapid rate, the language itself has undergone big changes with the introduction of ES2015 (aka ES6). Understandably, many articles have been written complaining about how difficult it is to learn modern JavaScript development these days. We're aiming to minimize that confusion with this set of books on modern JavaScript. This book outlines essential tools and skills that every modern JavaScript developer should know. It contains: A Beginner's Guide to Babel by James Kolce A Beginner's Guide to Webpack 4 and Module Bundling by Mark Brown An Introduction to Gulp.js by Craig Buckler 10 Languages That Compile to JavaScript by James Kolce 10 Must-have VS Code Extensions for JavaScript Developers by Michael Wanyoike Introducing Axios, a Popular, Promise-based HTTP Client by Nilson Jacques This book is for all front-end developers who wish to improve their JavaScript skills. You'll need to be familiar with HTML and CSS and have a reasonable level of understanding of JavaScript in order to follow the discussion

The analysis of a practical and nearly optimal priority queue by Mark Robbin Brown( Book )

18 editions published between 1977 and 1980 in English and Undetermined and held by 50 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The properties of the binomial queue, a new data structure for implementing priority queues that can be efficiency merged are explored in detail. New methods of representing binomial queues are given which reduce the storage overhead of the structure and increase the efficiency of operations on it. One of these representations allows any element of an unknown priority queue to be deleted in log time, using only two pointers per element of the queue. A complete analysis of the average time for insertion into and deletion from a binomial queue is performed. This analysis is based on the result that the distribution obtained after repeated insertions and deletions

Your first week with Node.js by James Hibbard( )

3 editions published in 2018 in English and held by 17 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

While there have been quite a few attempts to get JavaScript working as a server-side language, Node.js (frequently just called Node) has been the first environment that's gained any traction. It's now used by companies such as Netflix, Uber and Paypal to power their web apps. Node allows for blazingly fast performance; thanks to its event loop model, common tasks like network connection and database I/O can be executed very quickly indeed. From a beginner's point of view, one of Node's obvious advantages is that it uses JavaScript, a ubiquitous language that many developers are comfortable with. If you can write JavaScript for the client-side, writing server-side applications with Node should not be too much of a stretch for you. In this book, we'll offer a beginner's introduction to Node and its related technologies, and get you under way writing your first Node applications. It contains: What Is Node and When Should I Use It? by James Hibbard A Beginner Splurge in Node.js by Camilo Reyes and Michiel Mulders A Beginner's Guide to npm- the Node Package Manager by Michael Wanyoike and Peter Dierx Forms, File Uploads and Security with Node.js and Express by Mark Brown MEAN Stack: Build an App with Angular 2+ and the Angular CLI by Manjunath M Debugging JavaScript with the Node Debugger by Camilo Reyes Using MySQL with Node.js and the mysql JavaScript Client by Jay Raj How to Use SSL/TLS with Node.js by Florian Rappl and Almir Bijedic This book is for anyone who wants to start learning server-side development with Node.js. Familiarity with JavaScript is assumed, but we don't assume any previous back-end development experience

A fast merging algorithm by Mark Robbin Brown( Book )

7 editions published in 1977 in English and Undetermined and held by 9 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

An algorithm which merges sorted lists is represented as balanced binary tree. If the lists have lengths m and n (m <or = n) then the merging procedure runs in 0 (m log n/m) steps, which is the same order as the lower bound on all comparison-based algorithms for this problem. (Author)
