The people, yes by Jerome Liebling( Book )

5 editions published in 1995 in English and German and held by 7 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Titled after Carl Sandburg's poetic epic, The People, Yes gathers together more than 100 of Liebling's most indelible images. From the stoic purity of a Shaker community to the vibrancy of unbowed old age; from the stark hubbub of 1940s New York City to the wistful solitude of Emily Dickinson's Amherst; from the infirmary to the handball court; from light to dark and surprise to shock, then back again - Liebling applauds the essential dignity and integrity with which even the humblest among us confront our lives

The Dickinsons of Amherst by Jerome Liebling( Book )

3 editions published in 2001 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Three preeminent scholars of Dickinson's life and work have contributed essays that explore the history and legacy of the Homestead and the Evergreens. Polly Longsworth, who wrote the definitive account of Austin's affair with Mabel Loomis Todd, reveals some results of her recent researches - including a new recognition that Dickinson's anxiety problems were a real and integral condition of her existence. Barton Levi St. Armand shares the previously untold inside stories of Mary Hampson, the last resident of the Evergreens, and of the lives connected with the house over the last century. Christopher Benfey offers an insightful appreciation of Liebling's photographs and the light they shed on Dickinson and her work." "The heart of this book is the one hundred-plus photographs through which Jerome Liebling expands our understanding of Emily Dickinson's world and life."--Jacket
Pow wow( Visual )

4 editions published in 1955 in English and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Filmed at Red Lake Indian Reservation, Minnesota during the summer of 1955, this documentary captures the Ojibway tribe's isolation on the reservation and the difficulty adapting to the white man's world. This reality is contrasted with the spirit of the Ojibway's annual Pow Wow. Director Jerome Liebling's career as a Photographer, Filmmaker and Teacher spans nearly fifty years. In the 1940s, he studied photography under Walter Rosenblum and Paul Strand, and joined New York's famed Photo League. While a professor of film and photography at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Liebling began what was to be a longtime collaboration with filmmaker Allen Downs; which led to the production of this documentary. In addition to Pow Wow, over the following two decades, they produced the award-winning documentaries, The Tree Is Dead, and The Old Men. Liebling's photographs are in the permanent collection of the Fogg Museum in Cambridge, Massachusetts
