Estimating flow-duration and low-flow frequency statistics for unregulated streams in Oregon by John C Risley( )

1 edition published in 2008 in English and held by 273 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Flow statistical datasets, basin-characteristic datasets, and regression equations were developed to provide decision makers with surface-water information needed for activities such as water-quality regulation, water-rights adjudication, biological habitat assessment, infrastructure design, and water-supply planning and management. The flow statistics, which included annual and monthly period of record flow durations (5th, 10th, 25th, 50th, and 95th percent exceedances) and annual and monthly 7-day, 10-year (7Q10) and 7-day, 2-year (7Q2) low flows, were computed at 466 streamflow-gaging stations at sites with unregulated flow conditions throughout Oregon and adjacent areas of neighboring States

Options for passenger rail in the Pacific Northwest rail corridor : a planning report by British Columbia( Book )

8 editions published in 1995 in English and held by 34 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The rail corridor examined in this report extends for 466 miles from Eugene, Oregon to Vancouver, British Columbia. The report presents an overview of the whole corridor with the objectives of collecting and summarising the plans developed over the past three years into a single document that can serve as a basis for conducting the environmental impact reviews needed before designing and constructing further improvements to the corridor. The report also lays out the priorities, timing, and financial demands of a long-run strategy to improve passenger rail transportation in the corridor. The report adopts an incremental approach to rail corridor improvement which assumes that investment occurs in stages and is focused on improving existing facilities. The report begins with a discussion of the rationale for the improvements and a bibliography and overview of relevant literature. It then analyses train operations, costs, and revenues for the corridor, with reference to relevant experience in California. The proposed improvements to railroad infrastructure are detailed section by section, including alternative routings, and environmental conditions and impacts of the improvements are discussed for each section. The report concludes with a plan for institutional and community involvement in rail corridor plan development and a financial program for system development, operation, management, cost sharing, and funding
