Family planning in five continents by International Planned Parenthood Federation( Book )

38 editions published between 1965 and 1989 in English and held by 152 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Population growth trends and family planning activities in Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania are summarized in this booklet developed by the International Planned Parenthood Federation. Narrative information for each continent gives a resume of population growth trends, reasons for the trends, population problems, policy formation, family planning attitudes, and government interest in matters of population and family planning. Following this, highlights of the family planning situation and basic demographic statistics are provided in table form for each country in the continent. Recorded is the country name, 1969 population estimate, birth and death rate per 1,000 for the most recent census or survey year, population growth rate percent for 1963-1969, and a paragraph on the family planning situation in that country. One hundred sixty-seven countries are reviewed. United Nation sources were used for obtaining population figures. (Bl)
Family planning handbook for doctors by IPPF Central Medical Committee( Book )

7 editions published between 1974 and 1988 in English and held by 146 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (ippf) believes that all people have the right to family planning information, including premarital and marital counseling, contraception information, and sex education. This physician's handbook is designed to provide all doctors with the necessary instructions on the latest family planning methods and practices. Discussed in the handbook are the different contraceptive devices, their estimated use at world level, their mode of action, effectiveness, and contraindications or complications. The chapters cover contraceptive methods in their order of world use. These include coitus interruptus, induced abortion, condoms, systemic contraception, intrauterine contraception, sterilization, rhythm method, and caps and spermicides. Also contained in the handbook is a discussion of subfertility and venereal diseases with respect to their medical implications on family planning. Since the book is designed for doctors providing clinic-based services, the latter part of the handbook gives information on performing cytological techniques and on equipping and running family planning clinics. IPPF Charter on Sexual and Reproductive Rights : Vision 2000 by International Planned Parenthood Federation( )

8 editions published between 1996 and 2003 in English and held by 93 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This document contains the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) Charter on Sexual and Reproductive Rights which articulates the fundamental principles of the IPPF applicable throughout the world. The key objectives of the Charter are 1) to raise awareness of the extent to which these rights have been recognized as human rights by the international community and 2) to clarify the connection between human rights language and key program issues. Each of the identified rights is treated in a separate section in which reference is made to the international human rights instruments in which it appears; it is defined; rights relevant to sexual and reproductive health which flow directly from this right are listed; and, if appropriate, additional rights which the IPPF believes are implied (and to which the IPPF commits itself) are noted. An addendum to the Charter contains relevant extracts from UN documents which contain indicators agreed by governments to be standards by which the upholding of the right can be measured. The identified rights are the right 1) to life, 2) to liberty and security of the person, 3) to equality and freedom from all forms of discrimination, 4) to privacy, 5) to freedom of thought, 6) to information and education, 7) to choose whether or not to marry and to found and plan a family, 8) to decide whether or when to have children, 9) to health care and health protection, 10) to the benefits of scientific progress, 11) to freedom of assembly and political participation, and 12) to be free from torture and ill treatment
