"The story of DC9 I-TIGI is one to be told because they have all the elements of a classical tragedy, such as the un-burial, the lack of justice, the uneven comparison between victims and power, but in addition this event proposes some pressing topical subjects. This is a global tragedy because victims, witnesses and offenders belong to different countries and systems and there is no judge who can set himself above the differences and planetary conflicts between reasons of right and reasons of state, between demands of justice, need of truth and convenience of silence, unmentionable decisions, arrogance of power. ... The recording of the show in Bologna was broadcast live by Rai 2 and a few days later in July 2000 was seen by an audience of two millions. After the experience in Bologna and Palermo with Giovanna Marini and her quartet, after the broadcasting on Rai 2 and the issue of the videocassette recorded together with a book relating the experience of myself and Daniele Del Giudice I felt the need of going back to the origin, to decompose all the work done and find out a way of narration simple, less theatrical. I therefore start from the script of Canto per Ustica, I give up Giovanna's songs, change the words and each night I use the stage as a schoolroom and follow the progress of the event in another room, the courtroom in Rome where this story is still being x-rayed, investigated and contested to those who are responsible. I feel it necessary to tell it again in order to modify it so to make it a way of reasoning about what's happening around us"--Marco Paolini website
