*Weitere Angaben Verfasser: Cornelia Parker Historical Fragments Die Kunst der 1956 in England geborenen Cornelia Parker umfasst Installationen, Skulpturen, Diaprojektionen und Fotografie - Konzeptkunst von besonderem ästhetischen Reiz, die ihre Sprengkraft einer ironisch-kritischen Realitäts- und Kunstauffassung verdankt. Zu ihren bekanntesten Werken gehören "Thirty Pieces of Silver" (1988/89), eine Hängeinstallation aus Tafelsilber und Instrumenten, die von einer Dampfwalze überrollt wurden, "Shared Fate" - eine Arbeit aus verschiedenen Objekten, deren Schicksal derselben Guillotine ausgeliefert war, von der auch Marie Antoinette geköpft wurde. Und schließlich "Cold Dark Matter" (2002), eine Raum-Installation aus den Überbleibseln einer vom Blitz getroffenen Baptistenkirche, in der die Künstlerin ihre jahrzehntelange Beschäftigung mit den Eigenschaften, der Transformation und Zerstörung ihres Materials zuspitzte. Als Turner Prize-Kandidatin erhielt Cornelia Parker 1998 eine Einzelausstellung in der Londoner Serpentine Gallery. Das Buch dokumentiert eine Raum-Installation im historischen Kuppelsaal des Württembergischen Kunstvereins und eine Reihe von Arbeiten auf Papier
