Clemens Brentano, geboren am 8.9.1778 in Ehrenbreitstein. Clemens Brentano ist der Bruder von Bettina von Arnim. Er studierte in Halle und Jena und verkehrte mit Wieland, Herder, Goethe, F. Schlegel, Fichte und Tieck. 1801 zog er nach Göttingen, dort verband ihn eine Freundschaft mit Achim von Arnim. 1804 zog er nach Heidelberg um und war Mitarbeiter an Arnims "Zeitungen für Einsiedler" und "Des Knaben Wunderhorn". In den Jahren 1808-1818 lebte er meist in Berlin, von 1819-1824 in Dülmen/Westfalen. Clemens Brentano starb am 28.7.1842 in Aschaffenburg
