Walter Edward Perry Scott, known to the world as "Death Valley Scotty", was born in 1872 in Cynthiana, Kentucky. He married Ella Josephine Milius (whom he called Jack) in New York City in 1900. They had one son. Walter died in 1954 in Death Valley, California
