"Goode loosely bases the performance on his personal experience of floating in a motel pool in Burbank, California. While floating he had a revelation which put him in touch with the fleetin nature of his own life. The new work is also about society. It is about living in a floating culture that is bereft of any deep sense of inherited values from the past. It looks at the state of revelation, sudden transformation, as a way of floating out of that destitute culture." (Cal Performances press release, May 3, 1990)
