España, aparta de mí este cáliz es un poemario escrito por César Vallejo en los últimos meses de 1937. Fue publicado tras su muerte en 1939. Escrito en la misma época que los Poemas humanos, Vallejo lo concibió como un libro aparte, inspirado en la Guerra civil española. España, aparta de mí este cáliz, apareció en España, impreso por los soldados republicanos del Ejército del Este en la abadía de Montserrat. La leyenda cuenta que el papel necesario para la edición fue fabricado con el uniforme de un general franquista muerto en combate, pero esto parece ser falso. La edición príncipe estuvo desaparecida durante décadas. Sin embargo, en 1983 fueron hallados cuatro ejemplares en la biblioteca del propio monasterio de Montserrat. Esta edición fue preparada por Manuel Altolaguirre, en las Ediciones Literarias del Comisariado del Ejército del Este. España, aparta de mí este cáliz fue incluido después en la poesía póstuma de Vallejo, a cargo de Georgette, la viuda del poeta, con el título de Poemas humanos (París, Les Editions des Presses Modernes au Palais Royal, 1939). En esta edición el orden de los poemas y la numeración es distinto al de la primera edición de enero de 1939. En 1940 Juan Larrea publicó y prologó en México otra edición, con el subtítulo de Profecía de América. Esta es muy semejante a la edición príncipe. El título de España, aparta de mí este cáliz se inspira en un pasaje de los Evangelios, en que Cristo se dirige a Dios, diciéndole: Padre, si es posible, aparta de mí este cáliz. El libro tiene un fuerte aliento bíblico, y más que un poemario épico es una plegaria laica a favor de los Republicanos españoles
