General description of the collection: Cavalry - 2nd Regiment papers include annual histories of the 2nd U.S. Cavalry Regiment, 1903-1907, including its service in the Philippine Insurrection and the "UTE uprising" of 1907. Also available are an outline of the service of the regiment and its predecessors, the 2nd U.S. Dragoon Regiment and the Regiment of Mounted Rifles, 1836-1907, plus capsule accounts of some of the unit's operations between the Mexican War and World War I.A few miscellaneous items are also on hand

Dale, 2nd Wisconsin Cavalry, at Rolla, Mo., during the Civil War (roll MS 1355); and military & personal papers of George & Elizabeth Custer (rolls MS 1345-MS 1352). The post-1876 material largely relates to Mrs. Custer's efforts to perpetuate her husband's memory
