Das Lied von der Erde by Gustav Mahler( )

1,180 editions published between 1936 and 2018 in 8 languages and held by 15,359 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Symphony no. 5 by Gustav Mahler( )

524 editions published between 1964 and 2018 in 7 languages and held by 11,559 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Composed in 1902, this purely instrumental work followed upon three symphonies that had all included vocal parts. This and the opening trumpet motif, an allusion to the rhythm that begins Beethoven's Fifth have been interpreted as Mahler's return to a more conventional idea of the symphonic genre

338 editions published between 1966 and 2017 in 8 languages and held by 6,239 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

For the latest highly anticipated release in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra's Mahler symphony cycle under the direction of its chief conductor Mariss Jansons, the orchestra now turns its attention to the Third Symphony. Like no other, Jansons possesses the ability to integrate all this beautiful detailing into the virtually infinite overarching climaxes that can make listening to Mahler's symphonies such an exciting experience
Symphony no. 1 by Gustav Mahler( )

Symphony no. 7 by Gustav Mahler( )

328 editions published between 1954 and 2018 in 7 languages and held by 6,112 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Mariss Jansons's international reputation as a Mahler conductor is indisputable. During his tenure as chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Jansons did not record a full cycle of Mahler symphonies. With this new 2016 recording that project is now nearing completion. Mahler himself led the Concertgebouw Orchestra in the Dutch premiere of the Seventh in October 1909. How must the audience in the Main Hall have reacted to this whimsical work with its night-time atmosphere and eerie sounds? Although this vast symphony, featuring a number of unconventional instruments like the mandolin and guitar, did not catch on right away, it would slowly but surely win the hearts of music lovers everywhere

Symphony no. 8 by Gustav Mahler( Recording )

295 editions published between 1954 and 2017 in 8 languages and held by 5,042 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Mahlers 8. Breite Empfehlung

"Using the composer's own sketches, and a thorough knowledge of his orchestral style, Remo Mazetti [sic], Jr.'s reconstruction of Mahler's 10th Symphony, in its world premiere recording, gives us a vision of how this extraordinary work might sound if Mahler had lived to complete it."--Container insert
Symphony no. 2 by Gustav Mahler( )

166 editions published between 1952 and 2017 in 8 languages and held by 4,003 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Sinfonie Nr. 2 c-Moll für Sopran, Alt, Chor und Orchester. Text: Friedrich G. Klopstock und aus Des Knaben Wunderhorn
Symphony no. 2 : "Resurrection" by Gustav Mahler( )

96 editions published between 1969 and 2016 in 4 languages and held by 3,792 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Recorded live at London's Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in September 2009, Mahler's Second Symphony is a compelling start to Jurowski's documentation of the great composer. The conductor's approach fully reveals the dynamic extremes in Mahler, emphasizing Jurowski's sensitivity and control. The London Philharmonic Orchestra has a long heritage with Mahler's symphonies cemented in a mid-European tradition
