84 editions published between 1947 and 1995 in 4 languages and held by 1,409 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Since the publication of the three-volume edition of "The Works of Sir Thomas Malory" in 1947 more has been written on Malory than during any comparable period in the past, and the time seems opportune for a re-issue in a revised form of the text and the critical apparatus, including the Introduction and the Commentary. Without departing form the method of editing adopted in the first edition the editor has endeavored to produce a more fully reconstructed text which in no fewer than two hundred passages comes closer to Malory's own. The revision has involved a fresh examination of all the material, and due account has been taken of the vast body of recent Malory criticism. -- From publisher's description

Works [of] Malory by
Thomas Malory(
Book
)
17 editions published between 1971 and 1983 in English and held by 885 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This single-volume edition of the complete works of Sir Thomas Malory was first published in the Oxford Standard Authors series in 1971. The basis of the text is the unique fifteenth-century manuscript found in 1934 in the Fellows Library of Winchester College, which is not merely much closer than Caxton's text to what Malory actually wrote, but livelier too. Its fifteenth-century English presents few difficulties, and the reader's eye quickly becomes accustomed to the old spellings, which could not be modernized without destroying much of the essential period quality of this great early masterpiece of English literature. Included in this edition are an introduction, a glossary, and fifty pages of explanatory notes on each of Malory's romances. -- From publisher's description

Le Morte d'Arthur : King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table by
Thomas Malory(
)
9 editions published between 2005 and 2017 in English and held by 775 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"Central figures in "The Matter of Britain," King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table still inspire many books and films today. Drawing on the legends of Camelot from French and English sources, Sir Thomas Malory compiled the drama of illicit love, the magic of sorcery, and the quest for the Holy Grail into a sordid and chivalrous tale that's been recounted for centuries. This beautiful leather-bound volume, with gilded edges and a ribbon bookmark so you never lose your place, will be a treasured edition of classic Arthurian folklore in any home library."--
