Boldness be my friend by Richard Pape( Book )

6 editions published between 1953 and 1955 in English and French and held by 17 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Aggressive, impetuous and resolute, Richard Pape was never going to sit out the war in a Nazi prison. Captured after going on the run when his bomber crashed in occupied Holland, Pape's thoughts turned at once to escape. In the most appalling of conditions, his ingenuity did not fail him. Not only did he send over a hundred coded messages to the War Office, but he swapped identities with a fellow prisoner and took on heavy mining work to put himself in a position to make a break-out. This proved to be only the beginning of his adventures

The treatment of congenital absence of the vagina( Visual )

1 edition published in 1938 and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

A film showing a successful operation to create an artificial vagina in a young woman aged 19. The surgical area is seen and the lack of vaginal space illustrated. A skin graft on the thigh is performed and the skin is draped over a mould (in an article by Read, this is described as being made of balsa wood, although this does not appear to be the material used for the mould here). The mould is inserted into the body and sutured. The patient is shown post-operatively - a glass phallus is inserted in the vagina to illustrate that a cavity of sufficient size has been created. This is followed by a short sequence of colour footage depicting the same procedure
