Hauptbeschreibung Christoph Krampe wurde 1943 in Berlin geboren, begann das Studium der Rechtswissenschaften an der dortigen Freien Universität und wechselte dann nach Freiburg, wo er im Jahre 1969 bei Joseph Georg Wolf promoviert wurde. 1978 folgte die Habilitation bei Karl-Heinz Schindler in Mannheim. Bereits im selben Jahr nahm er einen Ruf an die Ruhr-Universität Bochum an, der er bis zu seiner Emeritierung im Jahre 2011 als Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Bürgerliches Recht, Antike Rechtsgeschichte und Römisches Recht verbunden blieb. Rufe nach Düsseldorf und Fribourg/Schweiz lehnte
