This companion book reflects the continuing research underlying Gardner's and presents a major expansion of the information provided for individual chemical compounds." "One useful feature of this database is the inclusion of physical properties and use data for pure chemicals. Properties that have been provided, when available, include: the melting point, boiling point, density or specific gravity, optical rotation, ultraviolet absorption, solubility, and acute toxicity. The major uses of most of the chemicals are indicated and, where appropriate, regulatory information is also provided."--Jacket

"For each main entry; the following information is provided: chemical name and a list of trade names and synonyms; the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) Registry Number; the European Inventory of Existing commercial Chemical Substances (EINECS) Number; the Merck Index (Twelfth Edition) Number; the physical properties of each compound; and the known biological activity and indicated applications. Indexes, including a master index of names and synonyms, are appended." "This reference will be invaluable to research chemists, biologists, and physicians and to anyone interested in drugs who, starting with a single synonym for a drug, will be able to quickly find a thumbnail sketch of the essential information concerning the agent."--BOOK JACKET
Gardner's chemical synonyms and trade names by William Gardner( Book )

12 editions published between 1999 and 2006 in English and held by 392 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Gardner's features a comprehensive selection of chemicals. The main criterion for inclusion in Gardner's is a material's importance as a commercially available chemical. Thus all bulk inorganic chemicals, major pesticides, dyestuffs, surfactants, metals and alloys are included. The 5,000 highest volume chemicals in the US, as defined by application of the Toxic Substances Control Act, are all represented."--BOOK JACKET. "Almost all records describing pure chemicals now carry the appropriate CAS Registry Number and the associated EINECS Number. In addition, the Merck Index Number is provided for all chemicals which also appear in the Twelfth Edition of the Merck Index."--BOOK JACKET. "Entries, wherever possible, contain detailed information on chemical composition, functions, applications and suppliers. A feature new to this edition is the inclusion of physical property data for pure chemicals. Data that has been provided, as available, includes the melting point, boiling point, density or specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation, ultraviolet absorption, solubility and acute toxicity."--Jacket
CRC handbook of pesticides by George W. A Milne( Book )

13 editions published between 1994 and 2018 in English and Undetermined and held by 373 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This new compilation focuses on 386 of the most commonly used pesticides recently registered by the EPA. The structural and molecular formulas are listed for each chemical along with its Chemical Abstracts Registry Number (CAS RN) and, when available, its number in the Merck Index (Eleventh Edition). This invaluable reference provides the various English and foreign chemical names, trivial names, synonyms, and trade names for each pesticide. A handy chemical name index also presents this information in a readily accessible format. The pesticide's physical properties are summarized and data pertaining to the compound's acute toxicity in various species are given. This data has been drawn from the Registry of Toxic Effects of Chemical Substances. Finally, for each of the pesticide chemicals there is a reference to the appropriate Section of the Code of Federal Regulations, 40 CFR 180, where the various crop tolerances may be located."--Provided by publisher
